Adoration Health in Harriman, TN is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse to join our hospice team for after-hours coverage. The role provides critical end-of-life care in patients' homes or facilities, with after-hours support and collaborative triage.

The ideal candidate has an RN license, 1+ year of nursing experience (3+ preferred), hospice or similar setting exposure, and a strong commitment to clinical documentation and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with RN licensure.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience; 3+ years preferred.
• Hospice or similar setting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Must have insured vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on hospice care after hours.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms promptly and compassionately.
• Administer or adjust medications per hospice protocols.
• Communicate changes with the physician and obtain orders.
• Guide patients and families on current condition and next steps.
• Pronounce death during on-call if needed and notify funeral/hospice teams.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.

As a On-Call RN You will:

• Collaborate with Remote Triage On Call Team to deliver hands-on care to hospice patients and offer supportive services to their families during after-hours, on an on-call basis
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately
• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary
• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and anticipating the next steps
• If a death occurs during on‑call hours, the RN will go to the home or facility to pronounce death, provide support to the family, contact the funeral home, and notify the hospice team
• Complete timely documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation
• One year nursing experience required , 3+ years preferred
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order
