Job summary

Adoration Health in Harriman, TN is seeking an experienced On-Call RN to deliver compassionate end-of-life hospice care during after-hours. This full-time role requires night and weekend coverage (Friday 4:30 pm to Monday 8:00 am) and participation in the stand-up Teams call.

The RN will collaborate with remote triage on-call teams to support patients and families. The ideal candidate has RN licensure, at least 1 year of nursing experience (3+ years preferred), and hospice knowledge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation.
• One year nursing experience required, 3+ years preferred.
• Experience in hospice or a similar setting preferred.
• Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care.
• Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence.
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on hospice care to patients during after-hours on an on-call basis.
• Assess and manage urgent symptoms quickly and compassionately.
• Administer medication or adjust care based on hospice protocols or provider orders.
• Communicate with the physician regarding changes in condition and obtain orders as necessary.
• Offer guidance and support to the patient and family in understanding the current condition and anticipated next steps.
• If a death occurs during on-call hours, pronounce death, support the family, contact funeral home, and notify the hospice team.
• Complete timely documentation and communication.

As a On-Call RN You will:
