Registered Nurse positions are available at Levels I, II, or III, depending on experience and education.

One (1) year of RN experience is preferred for this position.

General Description:

An OU Health Registered Nurse (RN) I works under general supervision, providing high-quality care to patients in a hospital setting with health issues ranging from simple to complex. Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Align behaviors with OU Health values and maintain nursing practice standards.
  2. Assume responsibility for assigned patients.
  3. Document patient responses and changes in physician orders.
  4. Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures.
  5. Monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary.
  6. Administer medications as prescribed.
  7. Manage intravenous infusions and blood products.
  8. Deliver safe and competent patient care.
  9. Resolve patient complaints timely and in collaboration with support staff.
  10. Communicate care plans to patients and families.
  11. Make referrals as needed.
  12. Seek mentorship, remain open to feedback, and maintain certifications.
  13. Develop a professional career plan and set personal performance goals.
  14. Foster an inclusive workforce valuing diversity.
  15. Delegate tasks to support staff as needed.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (RN I):
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • 0-3 years of patient care experience.
  • Current RN License (Oklahoma or multistate eNLC).
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Minimum Qualifications (RN II):
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • 3-5 years of patient care experience.
  • Current RN License.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Minimum Qualifications (RN III):
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of patient care experience.
  • Current RN License.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Specialty certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and practices.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and evaluate nursing services.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Computer proficiency for quality and safety documentation.
  • Ability to advocate for patients and handle conflicts constructively.
  • Compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ability to foster diversity and inclusion.
