Job summary

Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for the Heart & Vascular Cardiac Catheter Lab to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for a designated patient group. You will set goals, develop a written care plan including education and discharge planning, and document patient progress in collaboration with the medical team.

The Staff Nurse, RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. The nurse will establish goals and priorities of nursing care. The nurse will develop a written plan of nursing care which includes patient education and discharge planning. The staff nurse will be responsible for documentation of care given with patient progress. The RN will work collaboratively with the medical staff in matters of patient care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
• 6 months RN experience required.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The staff nurse will be responsible for documentation of care given with patient progress. The RN will work collaboratively with the medical staff in matters of patient care.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three (3) or more years critical care or emergency department experience, previous cardiac catheterization lab experience.
• Knowledge of cardiac critical care, to include ACLS, PALS, BLS.
• Previous experience in peripheral vascular and endovascular procedures is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

• Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
• Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
• Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
• Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
• Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
