Compensation: Pay Range: $29.17- $47.46 / hour. Job Description: To manage the plan of care for the geriatric patient population presenting to the UAB Emergency Department. To assess and prioritize patients utilizing geriatric-specific nursing criteria in order to expedite and improve care, achieve better outcomes, and more effectively guide the allocation of resources. To function as a liaison coordinating care with the multidisciplinary care team. To plan care management as achieved through coordination of care with physicians, nursing staff, and other health professionals. Coordinates patients with outpatient services as indicated. Performs patient follow-up calls.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and two (2) years of related experience, within the previous five (5) years, in an emergency department serving geriatric patients required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement. Master's degree in Nursing preferred. Experience with quality improvement programs preferred.
