Orlando Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Endoscopy unit. This full-time day-shift role provides patient care in a setting where procedures are performed and many patients go home the same day.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, education, and coordination with the healthcare team. Requires Alabama RN license, BLS, and, for certain areas, ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC with 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit(NICU).
• Experience 1 year experience required unless AVP level or above approved.

Responsabilités

• Provides care appropriate to age of patients served on unit.
• Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and documents patient care including education, medication administration, and treatments.

• Prioritizes patient care according to Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
• Communicates patient condition to health care team members.
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients and families.
• Participates in process improvement activities and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintains regular attendance per policy.

Position Summary

Administers patient care in an area where patients come for treatment and typically return home the same day or care takes place in a post-acute transitional care setting.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Utilizesthe unique knowledge, skills, and competenciesrequired in ambulatory care nursing practice to promote wellness, restorehealth, address health-related situational problems and/or support end-of-life care.
• Assesses patients' needs and applies current ambulatory care nursing knowledge and evidence-based nursing practice whendeveloping an individualized plan of care for each patient.
• Demonstratesthe knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patientsserved on assigned unit.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of thepatient'sstatus and interpretsthe necessary information needed to identify each patient'srequirementsrelative to age-specificneeds.
• Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner. Thisincludesbut is notlimited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patientsafety.
• Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit-specific requisite skills.
• Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
• Practices effective problem identification and resolution.
• Delegatestasks and dutiesto healthcare team membersin accordance with the patient's needs and the team member'scapabilities and qualifications.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concernsto other health care team members.
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for both patients and family.
• Integrates patient and family education throughoutthe delivery of care.
• Participatesin ProcessImprovement activities as assigned.
• Demonstrates awareness oflegal issues, patients' rights and compliance with the standards ofregulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal,state, and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Participates and may lead unit level and/or organizational level committees of nursing practice and performance improvement.
• Participates in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or roleperformance.
• Practices efficient use of supplies and maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.
• Provides input into staff development needs, hospital and/or nursing committees, nursing research activities, and performancemanagement activities of co-workers and self.
• Assumesresponsibility for one's own professional development and continuing education.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
