Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a full-time Registered Nurse for St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview, FL. The role involves independently caring for a sub-specialty group of patients, delegating care activities, and performing preceptor responsibilities.

Ideal candidates should have an RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications, along with acute care experience. This position may involve occasional weekend work and requires in-person attendance.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years RN experience required.
• 1 year acute care RN experience in Endoscopy, PACU, or Critical Care preferred.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently cares for a sub-specialty group of patients.
• Delegates patient care activities to health care team members.
• Performs as preceptor and charge nurse when assigned.

Position Details

• Location: St. Joseph's Hospital South, 6901 Simmons Loop, Riverview, FL 33578
• Status: Full time, Monday‑Friday
• Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Shift 1 – Days)
• On Call: Yes
• Always in person
• Weekend Work: Occasional

Preferred Experience

• Minimum two years RN experience
• Minimum one‑year acute care RN experience in Endoscopy, PACU OR Critical Care (Endoscopy experience strongly preferred)

Responsibilities

• Independently cares for a sub‑specialty group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards
• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
• Responsible for professional accountability and development according to best practice standards set forth by a nationally recognized specialty organization
• Performs the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned

Qualifications

• RN (Registered Nurse) License
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor’s or higher in Nursing (BSN or higher preferred)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required with the American Heart Association
• PALS certification preferred with the American Heart Association
• Required Experience: 1 year acute care experience or 1 year interventional/procedural experience or 6 months RN acute care or interventional/procedural experience with prior LPN experience and completed competency assessment
