Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient-centered care within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. The role collaborates with the care team to meet physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs across care settings.

The RN will assess patients, develop and implement care plans with families, document thoroughly, and uphold safety and evidence-based practice in alignment with Mount Carmel's standards and the Magnet Recognition Program framework.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
  • Licensure: Ohio RN license required.
  • Experience: 2 years for casual RNs.
  • Nurse Residency Program for new grads with <1 year clinical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and patient safety; promote evidence-based practice.
  • Assess and evaluate care for an assigned patient group.
  • Collaborate with patient and family to develop a care plan.
  • Communicate pertinent information to the care team promptly.
  • Keep patient and family updated on care progress.
  • Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly.

Position Purpose

The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN collaborates in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.

What you will do
  • Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®
  • Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice
  • Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components
  • Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner
  • Keeps patient/family apprised/updated
  • Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from school of nursing
  • Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
  • For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required
  • All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program
