Job summary

Gundersen Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Electrophysiology (EP) Lab in La Crosse, WI. This 0.75 FTE position features 10-hour day shifts (7:00 am–5:00 pm) with 2–3 weeknight on-call shifts, no overnight or weekend call, and collaboration with cardiology and surgical teams.

The role focuses on EP procedures, pacemaker/defibrillator insertions, and electrophysiology studies, offering strong growth and an impactful career in a mission-driven system.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • 2 years RN experience with cardiac patient care required.
  • BLS for healthcare providers; ACLS certification within 3 months of hire.
  • RCIS certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care in the EP lab including electrophysiology studies, radiofrequency ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator insertions.
  • Work 0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks) with 10-hour shifts (7:00am–5:00pm).
  • Participate in 2–3 weeknight call shifts per week (after scheduled shift).
  • Collaborate with Cardiotesting, Pre Op, Exercise Physiology, and Cardiothoracic Surgery teams.

What you will do:
  • 0.75 FTE; 60 hours every two weeks
  • 10-hour shifts (7:00am – 5:00pm) Full-time orientation
  • Call Shifts - Approximately 2-3 weeknight call shift per week (after a scheduled shift)
  • No overnight or weekend call, no holidays
  • Collaborate with Cardiotesting, Pre Op, Exercise Physiology, and the Cardiothoracic Surgery teams
  • This position is working in the EP lab only. The EP Lab performs electrophysiology studies, radiofrequency ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator insertions.

What you need:
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin upon hire
  • 2 years RN experience, experience caring for cardiac patients required
  • BLS for healthcare providers, ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification a plus
