Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham, part of UAB Medicine, seeks an experienced RN to join the Cardiac Stepdown - 5 WEST team. This full-time role offers multiple shifts (days, nights, weekends) and provides a bonus up to $20,000 for eligible positions.

You will administer direct nursing care, coordinate multidisciplinary care, implement care plans, and assist with discharge planning. Requires Diploma in Nursing and current RN licensure in Alabama; BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire date; American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as an RN by the Alabama Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the team

Schedule: Multiple shifts available

• Full-Time Days, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Full-Time Nights, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
• Full-Time Weekend Days, Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Full-Time Weekend Nights, Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

What You Will Do

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
