*Ambulatory Registered Nurse positions are available at levels I or II, depending on experience and education.*

Shift Available: Full-Time, Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsible for providing appropriate counseling to patients on vasodilator medications within the Pulmonary HTN Program.

Experienced RN:

One (1) year of RN experience is preferred for this position.

General Description:

An OU Health Registered Nurse (RN) Ambulatory I works under general supervision, providing high-quality care in an ambulatory setting to patients with varying health problems. RN I is a nurse who is a novice or an advanced beginner progressing towards competence, relying initially on rules and beginning to formulate principles through real experience.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Align behaviors with OU Health values and maintain nursing standards
  • Manage an assigned patient or group of patients
  • Document patient responses and update physician orders
  • Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures
  • Monitor and respond to physiological data
  • Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
  • Deliver safe and competent patient care
  • Address patient complaints promptly and collaboratively
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and care plans
  • Refer patients to appropriate care providers as needed
  • Seek mentorship and maintain professional licensure
  • Develop personal and professional goals aligned with organizational metrics
  • Promote an inclusive and respectful workforce
  • Delegate tasks appropriately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (RN I):
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 0-3 years in patient care
  • License/Certification: Current RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact) and BLS certification
Minimum Qualifications (RN II):
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience: 3-5 years in patient care
  • License/Certification: Current RN license and BLS certification
