Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) Somerville Campus seeks a Part Time Registered Nurse for the 2 North Adolescent Unit. This 32-hour-per-week role is on a day/evening shift with weekend rotation and involves inpatient psychiatric care for youth 12–17 in Somerville.

Required MA RN license and BLS certification; BSN or ASN degree; 1–2 years of acute inpatient psychiatric experience preferred; ability to pass a job-specific physical test.

Center for Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, located in Somerville. provides a transformative continuum of patient and family-centered care for diverse youth with acute behavioral health needs.

The 2 NorthAdolescent Unit is a secured 18 bed psychiatric unit that provides care for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. The unit is located in Somerville Hospital. This is an acute care unit, working on assessment, stabilization and after care treatment planning. We have a multidisciplinary team focused on teaching self-control, de-escalation and restraint reduction. This approach is used to provide patient and family centered care.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required
• BSN or ASN degree required. Please see below for info on our New Grad RN Residency
• 1-2 years acute inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
• In addition, newly hired candidates are required to successfully complete a job specific physical test
