Job Overview

The Acute Rehab Unit at West Penn Hospital includes patients with strokes, spinal cord injuries, LVADs, Traumatic Brain Injury, and burn victims. The unit has 33 beds and offers PT, OT, and speech therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and act as a team player, mentoring and supporting colleagues.
• Delegate tasks appropriately based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
• Maintain a safe environment and consider patient condition and intervention complexity.
• Offer feedback and share knowledge with peers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and improve care.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in quality improvement projects.
• Supervise and evaluate delegated tasks within scope of practice.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Assess patient health status, respond to changes, and document interventions.

Qualifications

Minimum:
