Join our team as a Registered Nurse in the 7N Medical/Surgical unit in Corpus Christi. We are currently offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for this position.

Job Overview

The nurse practices independently within a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. The role involves developing long-term care plans, managing contingencies, and delegating tasks appropriately to care providers.

The unit focuses on general medical-surgical cases, including patients with non-surgical abdominal pain and less complicated post-surgical cases. It is a fast-paced environment that values teamwork and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Meet expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; monitor effects and side effects.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
  • Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers.
Core Competencies
  • Utilize critical thinking to assess physical, psychosocial, social, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs.
  • Develop and modify individualized care plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate patient care and treatment outcomes.
