**BayCare Health System** is currently seeking a **Registered Charge Nurse** to join our outstanding and compassionate **Med/Surg Surgical** team at **St. Joseph’s Hospital** . As part of the community since 1934, St. Joseph’s Hospital has been a partner for continued health and wellness.

This med/surg surgical unit specializes in pre and post op surgical patients, mainly GI/GU, trauma patients and any general surgery.

**The Charge Nurse responsibilities include:**

+ Proficiency in the care of a sub-specialty group of patients utilizing effective managerial skills.

+ Acting as a professional role model for other members of the nursing team.

+ Professional accountability and development.

+ Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse.

+ BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required

+ RN (Registered Nurse) license is required

+ ACLS Certification if required by department

+ RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification within 7 months of hire/promotion in lieu of education. Certification must be RN Professional, nationally recognized and applicable to the current primary area of practice on the approved Clinical Registered Nurse Certifications Grid.

+ Nurse Specialty certification is preferred **Education:**

+ Bachelors degree in Nursing, BS in a healthcare related field, or RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification is required within 7 months of hire/promotion **Experience:** · 2 years of RN experience is required · 1 year of leadership experience is preferred **Specific Skills:**
