As the RN Regional MDS Coordinator, you will:
Oversee MDS and reimbursement operations across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Conduct routine facility audits to ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state regulations, and reimbursement requirements.
Review MDS assessments, care plans, supporting documentation, transmission reports, and reimbursement outcomes for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor and improve PDPM performance, Case Mix Index (CMI), quality measures, Medicare reimbursement, Medicaid reimbursement, and revenue integrity.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to MDS Coordinators, Directors of Nursing, Administrators, and interdisciplinary care teams.
Deliver education and training related to MDS coding, documentation standards, reimbursement optimization, and regulatory compliance.
Support survey readiness efforts and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
Analyze reimbursement trends and develop strategies to improve clinical and financial performance.
Partner with facility leadership to improve resident outcomes, quality measures, and operational success.
Lead process improvement initiatives that strengthen clinical reimbursement programs throughout the region.
Current and active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of five (5) years of MDS/RAI experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities or Long-Term Care.
MANDATORY: Previous experience as a Regional MDS Coordinator, Regional Clinical Reimbursement Consultant, Regional RAI Coordinator, Regional Reimbursement Specialist, or similar multi-facility MDS leadership role.
Candidates must have direct oversight experience supporting MDS operations across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities. Facility-level MDS experience alone does not meet the requirements for this position.
Proven success managing MDS programs across multiple SNFs.
Demonstrated success improving PDPM performance, reimbursement outcomes, Case Mix Index (CMI), and quality measures across multiple facilities.
Extensive knowledge of MDS 3.0, the RAI Manual, PDPM, Medicare reimbursement, Medicaid reimbursement, managed care, quality measures, case mix systems, and CMS regulations.
Strong understanding of clinical documentation improvement and reimbursement optimization strategies.
Experience conducting MDS audits, compliance reviews, and reimbursement analysis.
Long-Term Care and Skilled Nursing Facility experience required.
Exceptional leadership, communication, analytical, organizational, and coaching skills.
Ability to travel regularly throughout the Cincinnati region.
AANAC Certification.
Experience leading reimbursement improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.

Required:
