Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) in Portland, OR, for evening shifts. The role involves delivering high-quality nursing care via electronic mail and phone, leading care coordination, and mentoring staff while ensuring HIPAA compliance and ethical standards.

Eligible candidates hold an Oregon RN license (or Compact/ Washington as applicable) and have at least 2 years of RN experience in acute or telehealth settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum two (2) consecutive years of RN experience in ED, ICU, Urgent Care, Med/Surg, or telephone triage within the last five (5) years.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based, clinically competent nursing care in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Plan, implement, manage, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care across the care continuum.
• Utilize appropriate assessment tools and clinical pathways to manage patient care.
• Perform triage and telephone advice independently within the scope of the Oregon and/or Washington Nurse Practice Acts.
• Document nursing care provided in compliance with departmental and organizational standards.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team members using the SBAR process.
• Mentor new staff and assist with orientation and staff development needs.
• Participate in ongoing continuing education activities and share knowledge with the health care team.
• Demonstrate accountability for ethical behavior and adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Facilitate coordination of care across all settings with attention to transitional needs.
