Job summary

SageWest Health Care in Fremont County, Wyoming, seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse to plan and administer professional care in the recovery room/post-anesthesia care unit, working with surgical teams to ensure safe and compassionate patient recovery. In this role you will monitor vital signs, comfort patients as they awaken, document care, and coordinate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of practice; BCLS certification; ACLS as required by facility.

Responsibilities

• Cares for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia.
• Monitors vital signs and patient status in PACU.
• Provides comfort and addresses patient needs during recovery.
• Documents care and communicates patient progress to the team.
• Educates patients on post-discharge care and wound care.

Job Summary

Plans and administers professional nursing care to patients in the recovery room/post-anesthesia care unit.

Essential Functions

• Cares for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia.
• Monitors vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level.
• Comforts patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients.
• Checks surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates care given, patient's status and reactions to interventions.
• Educates patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
• Performs work under minimal supervision.
• Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program.

• ACLS certification as required by facility of practice.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience.
