Job summary

Summa Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Quality Review role at the Akron City campus. This position is 32 hours per week and benefits eligible, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

The RN will administer the Medical Staff Quality Improvement program, act as a liaison to clinical information, and support credentialing through data capture and record review, including regulatory core measure auditing and data entry.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Graduate of a CCNE- or ACEN-accredited nursing program.
• Current Ohio RN license to practice.
• Five years of recent professional nursing experience in acute care, including medical/surgical or specialty care.

Responsibilities

• Administers Quality Improvement activities for Medical Staff and serves as liaison to provide clinical information to maximize peer review and aid credentialing data capture.
• Provides variance information from record reviews to the peer review process across departments.
• Performs regulatory core measure auditing and data entry to support accreditation.

Summary

Administers Medical Staff’s program of Quality Improvement activities and serves as a liaison between Medical Staff and the hospital to provide clinical information to maximize the peer review process and to aid in data capture for credentialing. Through complete record review provides variance information to the peer review process for all departments. Completes regulatory core measure auditing and data entry.

• Formal Education Required:
• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required, BSN preferred
• Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
• Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio
• Experience & Training Required:
• Five (5) years recent professional nursing experience to include a combination of medical, specialty care and/or surgical experience in an acute care setting.

• Ability to use independent judgment and access medical record documentation objectively and professionally.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with Medical Staff at all levels
• Ability to integrate multiple job tasks and criteria in an organized and efficient manner.
• Must maintain confidentiality of patient and physician information in all aspects of review activities.
• Ability to effectively present statistical findings for review by medical staff, committees and administration.
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy
• Level of Physical Demands:
• Sedentary- exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
