Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Pulaski in Pulaski, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across departments in alignment with state standards. You will work with physicians and the care team to provide individualized care and advocate for patients and families.

In this role you will assess patients at admission, perform procedures as ordered, document care promptly, and collaborate to create comprehensive treatment plans aimed at optimal recovery.

Qualifications

  • RN must obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 60 days.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree; No Travel Required; No Experience Required.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting changes.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider; documents care in the patient record.
  • Responds promptly to patient requests and strives to anticipate needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Coordinates, evaluates, and delivers a holistic patient treatment plan in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Interfaces between healthcare providers and community supports to coordinate ongoing care for specialized patient groups.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care per the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assesses patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
  • Manages the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan that promotes and supports recovery.
  • Manages the continuation of care by serving as the interface between healthcare providers and community support systems who coordinate ongoing care needs for specialized patient groups.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date(RN) Registered NurseBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
