Job Summary:

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Full-time; 36 hours/week.

Job Duties:

• Performs care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and mobility.
• Coordinates patient care with interdisciplinary team, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Provides education to patients and families tailored to their age, culture, and condition.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in Handle with Care or CPI training every 2 years.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or RN Diploma required.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; ACLS within 12 months.
• Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure.
• Six months to one year experience with psychiatric/behavioral patients.

Additional Certifications:

American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS required; ACLS within 12 months of employment.
