Job summary

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Night shift in Tampa, FL. This role requires RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and 1+ year of relevant experience. You’ll provide safe patient care, coordinate handoffs, and participate in care rounds in a faith-based hospital setting.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to nursing standards, and ongoing professional development while supporting the hospital’s mission to extend healing ministry.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Graduate of a school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.
• Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
