Corewell Health's Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids seeks a part-time Med Surg RN for the 1G unit. The role focuses on nursing care for medically complex patients, including those with cardiac arrhythmias and bipap needs, in a fast-paced setting.

You will be part of a collaborative team, delivering care per ANA standards, with opportunities to grow through ongoing learning and professional practice. Night shift, 24 hours weekly, benefits included.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably per ANA standards and state regulations.
• Demonstrate competency through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Uphold the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethics, communication, collaboration and leadership.
• Strive to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

1G is a 22 bed Progressive Non-ICU unit at Blodgett hospital that specializes in the care of a variety of medically complex patients, including those with cardiac arrythmias and who require bipap. People are drawn to 1G for its teamwork, dedication to excellence, and the opportunity to learn and challenge themselves in a fast-paced environment.

Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
