WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, WV is seeking a nurse program administrator to lead performance improvement initiatives and coordinate education programs for patients and staff. Strong leadership and clinical background in nursing are required. The position is full-time, exempt, with day shifts and involvement in program planning and policy updates.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Current RN license valid where services are provided or multi-state license via eNLC.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and oversees Performance Improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, and other health care providers to ensure comprehensive education for patients and families.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve patient outcomes and participates in plans to enhance outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Coordinates and oversees education program preparation to meet national accreditation standards for patients, nurses, and exercise professionals as applicable.
  • Prepares and conducts annual program reviews.
  • Assists in revising and reviewing policies and protocols.
  • Assists with marketing and program preparation.
  • Conducts daily rounds or audits on applicable patient populations, as needed.
  • Supervises, trains, and mentors staff.

Below, you'll find other important information about this position. Provides administrative support and coordinates management and operations. Responsible for the development and implementation of services/systems toward an organized, multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of care to patients and program goals. Responsible for promoting the continuity of care for patients through ongoing education, development of programs, evaluation of outcomes, and direct interaction with patients, families, and groups.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE
  • Associate's degree in Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
EXPERIENCE
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience in nursing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Certification in area of specialty.
EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience in Nursing.
