Job summary

Wilmington Health seeks a part-time Registered Nurse to coordinate and supervise patient care in an outpatient setting.   • Coordinate and supervise patient care reflecting the needs of the patients, families and the facility
  • Give care, showing flexibility with rules and regulations, as indicated by the patient’s needs
  • Make decisions reflecting knowledge of facts, knowledge of disease/surgical conditions, care required, and good judgement
  • Performance indicates knowledge in all areas of patient and family services specific to outpatient/ambulatory care, equipment safety, conscious sedation and procedures
  • Utilize personal initiative, maintain a stead level of productivity, function as a self-starter, and a compatible and supportive team layer
  • Communicate appropriately and clearly to the Director of Nursing
  • Clinically- The Staff RN must:
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of medications commonly used in the procedural setting, BLS and ACLS for full time and part time employees. Registered Nurses will have 3 months to obtain ACLS certification
  • Have knowledge of IV insertion skills and the fluids used, to include antibiotics given
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment of a patient and reassess as needed
  • Have the ability to assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain management techniques and education the patient/family
  • Perform all aspects of care (pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operative) in an environment optimizing patient safety and reducing the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
  • Be able to formulate an individualized plan of care for each patient
  • Possess knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifying dysrhythmias
  • For assisting the physician during procedures, the candidate must be able to:
  • Make use of a working knowledge of scopes and care
  • Label specimens correctly
  • Assist in transport of patient to recovery
  • Communicate patient information to the recovery RN
  • Treat family and patients with respect and dignity
  • Carry out medical and procedural aseptic techniques and universal precautions
  • Meet current documentation standards and policies and complete these items during each workday
  • Be able to scrub in on surgical cases or assist as needed
  • Professionally
  • Adhere to the dress code; appearance is neat and clean
  • Complete annual educational requirements
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled, with flexibility to the schedule
  • Wear identification while on duty
  • Attend staff meetings, annual review and in-service as scheduled
  • Represent the organization in a positive manner
  • Actively participate in Quality Management as directed
  • Comply with ALL policies and procedures

  • RN, BLS, ACLS & PALS required.

20 hrs a week 8 hour shifts

    Required

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
    • Registered Nurse with active license in NC
    • Certification in BLS
    • Certification in ACLS
    • One to three years of nursing practice, in a peri-operative setting or in an operating room
    • Must have training or self-paced instruction in information management, and be able to utilize computers and various software programs such as: Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Covid vaccinated: required for ASC Positions only

    Preferred

    • Experience working with patients in all age group:, adolescent, adult, geriatric
