Responsibilities

A professional nurse is accountable for caring for a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN assists in maintaining a financially stable unit, promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework, and supervises licensed and non-licensed staff. Applying the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the care plan, focusing on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes their educational and professional experience to deliver quality care and mentor staff.
