Essential Functions:

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, age-specific, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
• Implement care plans, including medication administration, specimen collection, and other treatments.
• Document all patient care activities accurately.
• Monitor and communicate patient status to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and mobility.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Assess learning needs and provide appropriate education to patients and families.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Supervise other staff as assigned and participate in orientation and training activities.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Required Skills:

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Handle with Care certification within 3 months of hire.

Licenses:

• Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license).
• 1-3 years of recent acute care experience preferred.
