Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, PA seeks per diem Registered Nurses to work on adolescent or adult mental health units and the substance use disorder unit. The role requires four 12-hour shifts per month, with responsibilities including assessments, medication administration, and crisis response.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care on a designated unit aligned with Roxbury Treatment Center's philosophy and objectives.
• Prescribe, coordinate and delegate nursing care.
• Complete nursing assessments and document care and patient progress each shift.
• Facilitate medication administration with safe practices and patient education.
• Respond to crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
• Attend Treatment Team to aid in developing patient care plans.
• Oversee and direct mental health technicians in patient care activities.
• Be accountable for assigned nursing care on a shift basis and promote professional nursing practice under supervision.

Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. RN Role/Responsibilities:

Registered Nurses will work on our Adolescent or Adult Mental Health Units and Substance Use Disorder Unit

• The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center.
• The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care
• The Registered Nurse completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift
• The Registered Nurse facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices , including patient education
• The Registered Nurse responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety
• Attends Treatment Team to aid in the development of patient care plans
• Oversees and directs the mental health technicians in patient care activities
• The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or DON.
• The Registered Nurse may also assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities as required.
