Job summary

Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, PA, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), is seeking Per Diem Registered Nurses to join a 112-bed behavioral health facility offering acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services.

Requirements include an active PA RN license (or eligibility) and CPR/BLS certification. Per diem schedule is (4) 12-hour shifts per month, with opportunities to participate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team focused on patient safety and recovery.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in Pennsylvania (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Current CPR or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with Roxbury Treatment Center's philosophy and objectives.
• Prescribe, coordinate and delegate nursing care.
• Complete nursing assessments and document care and progress each shift.
• Facilitate medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
• Respond to crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
• Attend Treatment Team to aid in development of patient care plans.
• Oversee and direct the mental health technicians in patient care activities.
• Accountable for assigned nursing care on a shift basis and promote professional nursing practice under supervision.
• May assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. RN Role/Responsibilities:

• The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center.
• The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care
• The Registered Nurse completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift
• The Registered Nurse facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices , including patient education
• The Registered Nurse responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety
• Attends Treatment Team to aid in the development of patient care plans

• The Registered Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or DON.
• The Registered Nurse may also assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities as required.
