Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for evenings at our Albuquerque facilities. The role emphasizes direct patient care, critical thinking, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team. A NM license (or compact state), BLS, and ICU/ED experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in NM or compact state
• 1 year of emergency department or 18 months of ICU experience preferred
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
• ACLS & PALS required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation using the nursing process.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient care in collaboration with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Perform and document patient assessments, administer medications and treatments, and implement evidence-based protocols and standards of care.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluate outcomes, and facilitate patient/family education and discharge planning.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist with diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural interventions.
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities in accordance with staff competencies and scope of practice.
• Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and professional role model for team members, new hires, and students.
• Maintain required competencies, certifications, licensure, and continuing education while adhering to organizational policies and safety standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, shared governance, and departmental activities that support exceptional patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
