THE Orthopedic Surgery Center is a brand new, state-of-the-art surgery center in Westminster, CO. Our mission is to treat each and every one of our patients, and their families, as if they were our own family member. Each patient, each family, each and every time. It is a 4 OR, 2 procedure room facility that focuses on Orthopedic procedures. Open Monday – Friday with no call. JOB SUMMARY
The Pre-Operative Nurse (Pre-op RN) has the responsibility for organizing and directing activities in accordance with nursing standards, Joint Commission, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines. The Pre-op RN can expect to care for all patients within the scope of practice for the facility (i.e. pediatric, adult, geriatric). They will admit, evaluate, assess and teach the patient in order to fully prepare them for their procedure or surgery. The RN may perform CLIA waived laboratory testing required prior to surgery as ordered. Communicates patient assessment information to the attending physician.
The PACU RN plans, coordinates, and oversees care for patients in the PACU department. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to other team members and providers. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the manager, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and other projects.
Benefits

Required Skills
Education and/or Experience: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Currently licensed in the state. CPR required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required. One year experience required in a peri-operative setting. Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities. Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position.
