Job Details

• Location: SSM Health St. Anthony – Shawnee, 1102 W MacArthur St., Shawnee, OK 74804
• Worker Type: PRN2 (as needed basis)
• Department: Ambulatory Surgery
• Schedule: PRN2; as needed
• Starting Pay: $35+ (based on experience)
• Shift Differentials: Available for night, weekend, and additional shifts

Job Summary

Assess, plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accept patient care assignments and communicate effectively with team members.
• Conduct patient assessments, involving patients and families in care planning and education.
• Plan and intervene in patient care, documenting responses and maintaining safety.
• Evaluate care effectiveness through ongoing assessments and post-op follow-ups.
• Make clinical decisions, escalate as needed, and assist in surgical services.
• Provide timely updates to physicians and document care accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments per hospital policies.
• Apply evidence-based practices suited to patient age and clinical needs.
• Maintain alertness and safety at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent.
• No prior experience required.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin, as applicable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.

Physical Requirements

• Constant speech, standing, walking; frequent lifting, sitting, reaching, visual and auditory acuity.
• Occasional lifting of patients and objects up to 50 lbs; occasional bending, kneeling, and driving.
