Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a Pre Op Registered Nurse for the Day Surgery Department at our Boise facility, located at the Regional Medical Center off I-184 and Curtis Rd. The role involves hands-on perioperative patient care, collaboration with anesthesia and surgeons, and patient advocacy.

As an RN, you will educate patients, administer medications, and help develop care plans tailored to perioperative needs, ensuring high standards of care in a Level II Trauma Center setting.

Qualifications

• A current RN license is required.
• Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
• At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS; ACLS/PALS within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care in the pre‑op setting.
• Educate patients and families about perioperative care and treatments.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments and develop care plans based on patient needs.
• Advocate for patients' physical, spiritual, and emotional well‑being throughout perioperative care.
