Job Responsibilities
- Medication Administration
- Follow SSH policies for administering, transcribing, and recording medications.
- Complete medication reconciliation as per SSH policies.
- Document narcotic withdrawal, administration, verify counts, waste, and resolve discrepancies.
- Plan of Care/Documentation/Patient-Centered Care
- Develop and communicate a prioritized plan of care for each patient.
- Conduct admission assessments within 8 hours and document outcomes.
- Reassess and document patient needs regularly.
- Follow policies for documenting patient care and outcomes.
- Assess and document patient comfort and response to interventions.
- Advocate for patients and families, raise ethical concerns, and communicate daily plans.
- Facilitate discharge planning aiming for 12:00 pm discharge time.
- Safety and Quality
- Verify patient identity before procedures and care, including "time out" procedures.
- Adhere to CDC hand hygiene and universal precautions.
- Maintain a safe environment meeting regulatory standards.
- Understand roles during hospital codes and emergencies.
- Professional Development
- Obtain at least 5 contact hours annually in practice area.
- Practice within MA Nurse Practice Act and supervise others as assigned.
- Respond to feedback and foster positive workplace relationships.
- Engage in critical thinking and stay informed about hospital policies.

- Use Lotus Notes for email and learning resources.
- Utilize required software applications and understand downtime procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Previous acute care RN experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse
- Additional certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, etc., may be required depending on department needs.
Work Schedule
7 AM - 7:30 PM, with 3-12 hour shifts, rotating holidays and weekends.
