About The Unit

The A2 - Post-Surgical unit is a 24-bed unit with a variety of surgical cases including bariatric, orthopedics, general surgery, podiatry, and more. We also support post-surgical pediatric patients to meet community needs.

About Corewell Health South – Lakeland Hospitals

The health system includes three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a regional cancer center, rehabilitation centers, two long-term care residences, home care and hospice services, and 34 physician practice locations. We provide inpatient and outpatient medical services throughout Southwest Michigan.

Scope of Work

The RN, within the ANA scope of practice, provides professional nursing care using the nursing process and patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. The RN collaborates with patients and families to develop care plans, provides education, and documents appropriately in health records.

Qualifications

Required

• Associates in Nursing
• Bachelor's in Nursing within 5 years
• Graduates from non-accredited schools must have at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role, and must pass the NCLEX exam
• MI Registered Nurse (RN)
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 2 years

Additional Information

• Part-time, night shift (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), 24 hours/week
• Variable days, every other weekend
