Overview

RN - Post Anesthesia Recovery (PACU) role at Integrated Resources, Inc (IRI). Job location: Colorado Springs, CO. Duration: 2-3 months with possibility of extension. Pay rate: $50/hr on W2.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
  • Evaluate patient’s response and intervene to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability; provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Recognize the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs.
  • Provide relationship-based care that understands what is most important to the individual and actively engages them in all aspects of care, with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
  • Delegate to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
  • Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
  • Serve as a professional role model for staff, demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing practice.
  • Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
  • Follow standards of care, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
  • Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
  • Precept/mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
  • Seek learning opportunities and continuing education; maintain skills and competence.
  • Maintain professional records that provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.
  • Evaluate one’s own integrity and nursing practice against professional standards and guidelines; take action to achieve goals identified during evaluation.
  • Participate in hospital and unit-based meetings to demonstrate ongoing commitment to the organization.
  • Value measurement and continuous quality improvement data; use quality measures to improve performance and patient outcomes and safety.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities; use current healthcare research findings to expand knowledge and practice.
Education & Certifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC - Required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ENPC Certification - Required.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Required.
Minimum Experience
  • One year experience preferred; nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty.
Float Requirements
  • Floating may be required to any client location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or client-identified float zone.
  • Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements in accordance with client policy.
