Job description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for patient triage and education, assisting physicians during office hours, and follow-up on prescriptions, procedures, and tests. Maintain chart documentation to ensure all information about visits is completed and documented correctly.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma/GED and completion of an accredited nursing program

Certification: Current State RN nursing license. Current CPR/BLS certification.

Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical experience working in a physician office/healthcare setting

Responsibilities
  1. Adhere to and support the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
  2. Follow the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
  3. Support the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by understanding compliance responsibilities, adhering to laws and policies, and reporting issues appropriately.
  4. Assess patient needs and treatment plans by taking vital signs, blood pressure, patient history, medication listing, and determining chief complaint. Provide assessments of patient condition to physicians.
  5. Perform tests as directed by the physician.
  6. Prepare equipment and assist physicians with medical treatments, exams, and procedures.
  7. Draw lab specimens, prepare them for transport, and complete lab forms and/or enter data into computer systems.
  8. Administer prescribed oral medications and give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
  9. Assist with patient teaching and instructions.
  10. Triages patients to determine emergencies and provide immediate support if necessary. Notify providers of medical emergencies.
  11. Assist in developing and documenting patient care protocols, procedures, and educational materials.
  12. Compile and analyze medical, statistical, and operational data; prepare reports for outcomes measurement and program efficacy.
  13. Review treatment forms to verify data for reimbursement; route relevant information to appropriate departments.
  14. Ensure accurate entry of information into the Electronic Health Record.
