Job summary

Huntsville Hospital seeks a Nursing Quality and CDI professional to lead quality improvement efforts. You will coordinate clinical documentation with physicians, nurses, documentation specialists and coders to ensure data accuracy and reflect the care provided.

Responsibilities include ensuring CMS indicators are accurate and maintaining education on patient safety metrics while collaborating with clinical teams across units. Experience in acute care and quality review is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Education preferred: BSN or MSN
  • License, Certification and/or registration: Current Alabama or Multistate Nursing License required
  • Experience: Prefer at least 5‑7 years in an acute‑care hospital setting; prefer at least 1 year of quality review experience; if no prior CDI experience, training will be provided

Overview

Responsible for facilitating the improvement in the overall quality and performance excellence. Obtain appropriate clinical documentation through extensive interaction and collaboration with physicians, nursing, documentation specialists and coders. Ensure that appropriate patient‑centered clinical data and quality metrics adequately reflect the clinical care provided. Ensure clinical information utilized in the reporting of quality outcomes is complete and accurate. Consistently maintain ongoing education related to CMS patient safety indicators, mortalities and other quality metrics.

Qualifications
  • Education required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Education preferred: BSN or MSN
  • License, Certification and/or registration: Current Alabama or Multistate Nursing License required
  • Experience: Prefer at least 5‑7 years in an acute‑care hospital setting. Prefer at least 1 year of quality review experience; if no prior CDI experience, applicants will be trained to current standards.
