Willis Knighton Pierremont (WKP) is a Joint Commission approved Primary Stroke Center. Our Stroke Unit consists of 12 beds for those stroke patients requiring intermediate care. Stroke patients require acute neurological assessment skills, hemodynamic drip titrations, and many other invasive monitoring skills. These specialized skills require critical thinking, accurate assessment abilities and exceptional communication with providers. Our nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3, allowing the nurse to collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care delivery team, patient and family for a coordinated plan of care.WKP promotes a healthy work culture in which we expect and maintain a respectful environment for each other as well as our patients and their families.
