Job summary

Hudson Regional Hospital in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time Day shift. You will provide medical support to children under physician supervision, communicate with patients and families, and record vital signs and lab results.

Essential duties include assessing needs, identifying changes in symptoms, administering medications, drawing blood, giving vaccinations, monitoring vitals, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Active RN license in New Jersey.
• AHA BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) provides medical support to children, under the direction of the Physician. Duties may include communicating with children of different abilities and developmental levels about their symptoms, talking to patients and their families about medical issues and recording the child’s vital signs and lab results.

• Participating in pain management for children
• Administer medications, draw blood, and give childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines
• Monitor temperature, pulse, breathing, and blood pressure and keep accurate records
• Evaluate children for signs and symptoms of abuse
• Provide supportive care to dying children
• Deal with the anxieties and demands of parents and help families deal with their child’s illness or injury
• Remain up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug therapies, equipment and treatment procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must possess licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey
• AHA accredited BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Previous Pediatric experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
