Overview

The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Qualifications

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

Education: College Diploma Nursing

Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrates clinical competencies in providing direct patient care and patient and family education as well as assisting the provider in the delivery of patient care.
  2. Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with others.
  3. Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
  4. Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  5. Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
  6. Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
  7. Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
  8. Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
  9. Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
  10. Collects and processes specimen accurately.
  11. Changes dresses, inserts catheters, starts IVs.
  12. Administer medication via oral/ injection/ IV inhalation.
  13. Provide patient education.
  14. Telephonic triage for treatment and management in collaboration with partner.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $29 per hour - $49.88 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
