Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated RN for the Orthopedic Clinic focused on pediatric patients. This full-time role covers weekdays 8am–5pm, with a 40-hour schedule, in a busy orthopedic setting serving newborns to adolescents.

The position involves triage by phone, patient education, and assisting with procedures under supervision. The ideal candidate will have an RN license, preferably a BSN, and at least one year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; RN license in the practicing state.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

You can be part of an established specialty within Sanford Orthopedics that continues to grow. Patient population ranges from newborns through adolescence. This team sees injury related issues, congenital issues, scoliosis, and more!

Responsibilities

Schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. No weekends or major holidays.

Summary Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms. Job Description Guides the patient to the appropriate level of care; schedules patient appointments over the phone with appropriate healthcare providers/facilities/physicians. Documents information provided to patients during triage in health record systems; records patients health conditions for follow-up patient care. Maintains and develops triage protocols; ensures patients' healthcare information is updated on time. Role does answer inquiries through multiple variations of technology, depending on department. Educate patients based on calls that come in.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred. One year of healthcare experience preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role is completed. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
