Job summary

Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC seeks aRegistered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN provides direct patient care, follows the nursing process, and collaborates with the care team to ensure safe transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

The role requires NC or compact RN licensure, an ASN, and BLS certification, with PALS/ACLS and Handle with Care preferred. Experience in hospital settings is required, with a focus on telemetry and cardiology care where applicable.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license).
• ASN from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required).
• PALS, ACLS and Handle with Care Preferred.
• One year of RN hospital experience (required).

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
