Job summary

Hchcares in Indiana seeks experienced bedside nurses or new graduates for its Progressive Care unit. Mentoring will be provided during the introduction to the unit. Adult hospitalists support the nursing team, with strong surgical support for orthopedic and general surgery.

Qualifications

Basic knowledge of pathophysiology and nursing process.
Understanding of nursing interventions and pharmacology.
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.

Responsibilities

Supervises nursing personnel activities daily and participates in the delivery of general nursing duties.
Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order.
Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients.
Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress.
Manages personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.
