Cynet HealthStaff seeks an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown assignment in Peoria, IL. The role covers 20-bed unit care with a 3:1 or 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. You will manage ICU-level tasks including ventilated patients, chest tubes, and critical care procedures.

Experience in ICU/Intermediate (Stepdown) nursing with a nurse to patient ratio of 3 to 1 or 2 to 1.Experience with trach and ventilated patients.Description:This unit has a total of 20 beds.It includes 8 private rooms and the rest are semi-private.The nurse to patient ratio is 3 to 1.Common diagnoses included in this unit are COPD, CHF, DM, sepsis, renal failure, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, and other respiratory conditions.Patients may also include some neuro, surgical, and cardiac cases.Nurses will care for patients on BIPAP, CPAP, face masks, as well as tracheostomy patients, and those on ventilators.Additional responsibilities include managing chest tubes, G-tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, and central lines.Nurses are required to titrate drips including Cardene, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Heparin, and Vasopressors.There is a charge nurse on each shift who may take an assignment if staffing is not ideal.Patient Care Technicians are present with a ratio of 2 PCTs per shift.All patients are monitored on bedside Philips Monitors.Tele techs interpret strips while RNs confirm readings.Shifts are 12 hours from 7 AM to 7 PM.Travel nurses work with the unit supervisor on scheduling preferences including block scheduling.Every other weekend commitment is required.Holiday requirements include every other holiday rotation and the companion day of major holidays.Travel nurses may be floated to other Stepdown or General Medicine units as needed.Scrub color and dress code are flexible.An initial unit-specific orientation will be provided.
