Job summary

Origin Travel Nurses is seeking a Stepdown Cardiac/Telemetry RN for a 13-week assignment on days. The schedule is 3x12-hour shifts (08:00–20:30) with every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

The RN will monitor adult and geriatric patients, manage medications and IVs, and coordinate care with the healthcare team. Travel nursing experience is required and EPIC EMR experience is needed.

Qualifications

• Active MD or compact RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI required.
• Minimum 2 years in stepdown cardiac/telemetry.
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and geriatric patients in stepdown cardiac/telemetry.
• Monitor vitals and telemetry; interpret dysrhythmias.
• Manage central, arterial, and PICC lines.
• Administer meds and IV drips without titration.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans.

Stepdown Cardiac/Tele RN - Days

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Job Description

The Stepdown Cardiac/Telemetry RN will provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring effective communication among the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization, TAVR, CVA, COPD, DM, and respiratory failure.
• Monitor vital signs and telemetry readings, interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases as needed.
• Manage and care for central lines, arterial lines, and PICC lines.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips (both cardiac and vasoactive) without titration.
• Assist with complex care procedures, including post-cardiac surgical care and hemodialysis management.
• Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and home care methods.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RN License: Must have an active MD or Compact License.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI required; previous charge experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a stepdown cardic/telemetry unit.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
• Travel nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
