Stepdown Cardiac/Tele RN - Days
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
3x12-Hour Days (08:00 - 20:30); every other weekend required; holidays as scheduled.
Job Description
The Stepdown Cardiac/Telemetry RN will provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, and ensuring effective communication among the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, MI, pre/post cardiac catheterization, TAVR, CVA, COPD, DM, and respiratory failure.
- Monitor vital signs and telemetry readings, interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases as needed.
- Manage and care for central lines, arterial lines, and PICC lines.
- Administer medications and manage IV drips (both cardiac and vasoactive) without titration.
- Assist with complex care procedures, including post-cardiac surgical care and hemodialysis management.
- Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and home care methods.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- RN License: Must have an active MD or Compact License.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI required; previous charge experience preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a stepdown cardic/telemetry unit.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system is required.
- Travel nursing experience is required; first-time travelers are not accepted.
