Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a Sr. Coordinator, Quality and Patient Safety to support the development and implementation of its patient safety programs.

Under the Director of Patient Safety, you will help advance a culture of safety, monitoring performance and driving improvements to reduce harm. The role requires a nursing bachelor’s degree, an active RN license, and 1 year of relevant experience, with 5+ years and graduate degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Registered Nurse required.
• 1 year of relevant experience required.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Six Sigma yellow belt or higher preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience in an acute clinical setting with demonstrated expertise in health care quality & patient safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing patient safety program initiatives.
• Contribute to a culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
• Support accreditation processes, performance monitoring, education and awareness, and event reporting.
• Coordinate root cause analyses, sentinel events, and proactive risk assessments.
• Assist with reward and recognition initiatives within safety programs.
