Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation in Memphis, TN seeks a Patient Placement Nurse to coordinate bed assignments and patient transfers across Baptist facilities. You will work with physicians, nurses and families to ensure appropriate care and timely movement of patients.

The role requires RN licensure with at least 1 year in acute care, strong computer skills and EPIC experience. BLS certification is preferred, and you will participate in ongoing learning and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• RN with 1 year in acute care.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess bed availability for all areas of the hospital.
• Proficient in electronic bed management systems.
• Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery.
• Provides clinical leadership.
• Supports lifelong learning.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Coordinating patient admissions and transfers with healthcare providers, patients and families.
• Assessing patients' medical conditions to determine the best unit and level of care.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses and other providers to ensure appropriate care.
• Ensuring proper documentation of patient information.
• Managing patient flow to prevent delays or bottlenecks.
• Facilitating communication among patients, families and providers.
• Maintaining compliance with hospital policies and privacy/safety regulations.
