Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced nurse educator to support patient and staff education. You will apply teaching-learning principles and lifestyle counseling, tailoring instructions for patients of all ages while respecting cultural beliefs and learning styles.

Responsibilities include updating educational materials, evaluating responses to education, and serving as a resource to nursing staff and the community. BSN is preferred with active RN licensure and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of employment.
• BLS certification required by policy.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical specialty preferred.
• Professional certification in the specialty within 2 years if not currently certified.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assists patients and their significant others and family in acquiring clinical information and education.
• Uses teaching-learning theory and life-style counseling principles.
• Individualizes instructions for all ages, considering cultural preferences and learning styles.
• Adheres to Standards of Practice for the specialty field.
• Develops and updates educational information for patients and staff.
