Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment assessments.
• BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification.
• Current state nursing license in Texas.
• De-escalation training within 90 days of hire; maintains competency.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care using the nursing process.
• Maintain professional behavior when addressing conflicts; use appropriate resources.
• Provide a safe environment for patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Assess risks to patient safety and implement precautions.
• Comply with standards set by organization and accrediting bodies.
• Comply with safety and injury prevention standards; support patient-centered care model.
